Case IH introduces cutting-edge tillage equipment
Advanced tillage implements added to Case IH’s extensive range of implements and farming equipment | Now available to SA producers for soil preparation in autumn and winter
Case IH has introduced a new line-up of tillage and soil cultivation equipment to South African farmers to augment its already comprehensive range of popular implements.
The new equipment includes the Case-Ecolo Tiger 875 disc ripper, the Case 475 Speed-Tiller high-speed disc, the Case Tiger-Mate 255 seedbed cultivator, the Case True-Tandem 335VT and 335VT Barracuda vertical tillage tools and the Case True-Tandem 375 Disc Harrow.
Representing more than 175 years of industry experience, Case IH has a worldwide presence in over 160 countries. The company is recognised today as a leader in powerful, reliable and highly efficient equipment to help professional farmers meet the challenges of modern farming.
According to Case IH Implements Product Specialist Johan Grobler, maximising yield potential starts at the time of primary tillage and one of the most critical elements is proper soil management. Case IH knows that growers can dramatically improve crop emergence in the spring by implementing sound soil cultivation practices in autumn and winter.
The Case IH soil management range delivers reliable results and ergonomic, rugged performance to meet producers’ needs, offering a full series of tillage equipment that includes high-speed discs, disc harrows, heavy-offset disc harrows, strip-till applicators, disc rippers, in-line rippers, chisel plows and seedbed cultivators.

The Ecolo-Tiger® 875 disc ripper is the most aggressive on the market with impressive disk-cutting power, high underframe clearance, and a minimum of 91 cm spacing between points. It sizes and mixes crop residue for nutrient release in accordance with crop demands. The Ecolo-Tiger re-establishes pore space, improves internal drainage and increases water holding capacity. It creates level soil conditions to provide a high-yield environment for plants. The result is industry-leading productivity and agronomic advantages for superior soil and rugged durability.

The 475 Speed-Tiller® high-speed disc offers a tillage solution that is simple to use, extraordinarily efficient, and exceptionally versatile. It creates a highly efficient seedbed with a planter-ready field finish and creates a smoother, more level sub-surface floor complimenting accurate seed placement and young root development. The rigid mode of operation allows for greater penetration of tough soils in autumn and winter along with excellent sizing and incorporation of crop residue.

The Tiger-Mate® 255 seedbed cultivator sets new standards for seedbed preparation with advanced features that include an enhanced shank assembly, split-the-middle sweep design and single-point hydraulic depth control. All work together to create an ideal growing environment for crops under any field conditions. The workhorse component of this cultivator is the superior shank assembly, combining force and flexibility to support field speeds of up to 16 km per hour. Thicker shanks, a stronger shank guard channel and increased holding power helps to manage fast-changing field conditions.

The True-Tandem® 375 disk harrow leads its class in durability, reliability and simplicity. Agronomically designed to tackle rough field conditions, the all-purpose 375 disk harrow is ideal for primary tillage and seedbed preparation in both spring and autumn. The symmetrical design offers straight, easy pulling in heavy residue, leaving a level soil finish behind. True-Tandem disk harrow technology combines uniformly distributed pull forces with exclusive Earth Metal blades for optimal tillage performance, even in the roughest of fields. It slices through tough residue, uproots root balls and levels the soil to create the best possible seedbed for your crop.
The True-Tandem™ 335VT vertical tillage tool with its combination of agronomic design features and rugged components, allows producers to take on heavy residue, uneven ground and rocky conditions. The Case IH vertical tillage line-up is built on proven agronomic design principles with industry-exclusive blades, so farmers can effectively cut, size and bury more residue. This patented system moves material up, over and out to stratify soil particles and increase aeration for improved soil tilth and seedbed conditioning.
The True-Tandem™ 335VT Barracuda vertical tillage tool effectively sizes and evenly incorporates even the most stubborn crop residue to leave behind a smooth surface finish second to none. Precise depth adjustment allows for greater control over soil residue cover at planting to fit a wide range of soil types, topographies and management objectives. It promotes a better seedbed finish without the excessive compaction typical of heavier disks.
